Creative Ideas for Wallpaper

13 08 2010

Here are some cool ideas from a vintage DIY Decorating book soon available HERE

A perfect alternative if you are an apartment dweller and want to utilize your favorite wallpaper

A. A great option for thrifted furniture with damage you don’t want to refinish. Paint and wall paper make this otherwise boring hutch into an adorable conversation piece!

B. The book recommended using cardboard boxes and covering them with wallpaper, but that is a horrible idea. I’m sure there’s a lovely tutorial online somewhere on how to build that shape box out of WOOD.

Much better option.

C. This is my favorite because it’s versatile and can be moved from room to room.

Apply the wallpaper to a basic room divider and enjoy!

I am including this next one just because I adore it! Sheer fabric and wooden dowls make a beautiful room divider that still allows light.

Vintage Addiction & Hairstyles

16 12 2009

Hello, My Name is Lady Grunge (AKA Stacie) and I am an addict.

Now that my stock is pouring out of my closet…. as it always ends up doing… mostly because I like to try everything on and sometimes borrow pieces…. :::SIGH::: I have issues.

I discovered this because I am trying to organize it again and haven’t yet broken down yet to ask my husband (Mr. Organization) for his help.

The main problem is that I love to shop and get bored with the photographing and posting. This must change!

Okay, I have admitted I have a problem and that I need to change. I’ll skip the accountability part because I don’t want any of that. But I do have a great motivation to get everything going and all of my floating unposted stock going… a clean office! And once it’s clean then i will want to be in there! Once I want to be in there- I will sew! Once I sew then I can sell my adorable recycled skirts I’ve been playing around with and then…. SHOP MORE! BLOG MORE! POST GREAT IMAGES FROM Magazines that are lost under dresses and skirts! I will prevail over this addiction and become a contributing member to society by providing adorable vintage and handmade!

All of this will be powered by my new Natalie Imbruglia (circa 2006) Choppy Pixie HairCut courtesy of Nancy in Riverside (amazing stylist for only $35 who works with all types of hair and lengths and is stinkin adorable! Plus she loves vintage!!)

If you see new photos by Friday Afternoon you will know I am back on track if not, maybe next week =)

For now enjoy these cool hair styles that I have found places including my own magazines and would like to share

Granny Grunge

7 11 2008

Woohoo!!! I am up and posting again. I was super tired all week and my hubby just finished painting the newest “MODEL” to join our team. I haven’t come up with her super-model name as of yet… but I’m working on it.

On to todays topic “Granny- Chic” AKA “Faux-Granny” I sometimes don’t realize that always shopping in thrift stores and garage sales really impacts my fashion choices. I loose what is currently in fashion this month and just find things I love. Lately my hunny has been wrinkling his nose at my clothing choices saying “You look like a granny” to which I respond- I am 27, 5’10” and sknny. I couldn’t look like a grandma if I tried (without the help of make up of course)… oops. Rabbit Trail! So, When I was at Borders last weekend and say these cute crocheted mats on the headrest of the seats in the car next to us I thought “How Chic!!” Then I thought, those are totally granny. HmMMm. Hubby was right. I dress like a granny sometimes. But is there anything wrong with that? I think not! Granny’s rock! They have good smelling houses, tend gardens and wear really comfortable shoes. Maybe it’s time we start revering our elders again and one way is to copy their style

Here’s a Few Lady “Granny” Grunge Pieces new to my shop!

Everything is so Black and White

11 10 2008

I tend to see the word in black and white and tend to rely on my logical deduction a little too heavily. It’s not all bad though! Like, I believe that for a person to not notice flowers while walking past them or a variety of colors of leaves on the ground is missing out. Flat out. Or if a person doesn’t look for patterns in the clouds at least once a week or whenever they get to see them if in Southern California…. their life is void of imagination.¬† One more: No women looks good in spandex. I am not discriminating against the heavier women because I probably have more cellulite then most women out there…. but all women just shouldn’t wear it! Nothing good comes from wearing it!

Onto the newer Black and White  items in my shop:

This is my new blog. I have started this to keep my clients up to date on upcoming events, sales and also random bits of my life.

Me:

I’m 27

I’m Married (to my HighSchool Sweetie)

I’m addicted to the thrill of the hunt that is vintage shopping

I’m 5’10”

I’m obsessed with cookie dough

I’m in love the tingle of Burts Bees Chapstick and the light freshness that I get from Dove Shampoos

I think that’s enough to get us aquainted.
